The history of this country would not be complete without the story of Santa Fe.  This in depth, three-hour tour, provides four centuries of history in Santa Fe, the oldest capital city in the nation.  The tour is led by Ana Pacheco, the former City Historian of Santa Fe and the author of eight books on Santa Fe and New Mexico history.  Pacheco is a true local, her family settled in Santa Fe in 1692.  Don Gaspar Avenue and Ortiz and Pacheco streets are all named for her family.  Tour highlights include the history of New Mexico’s nineteen Indian Pueblos, Santa Fe’s Japanese internment camp, Sunmount Sanatorium, the American Civil War in New Mexico, the National Cemetery and Spirituality in Santa Fe, the City of Holy Faith.

I was a docent at the New Mexico Museum of Art for 15 years and I have been a docent at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum for over 20 years. For over 15 years I have been a lecturer for Road Scholars of New Mexico; these lectures cover a variety of subjects including Georgia O’Keeffe, the early artists of New Mexico, and the architecture and history of Santa Fe.
