Earth Walks
(505) 231-5802

The phrase “earth walks” refers to each person’s life journey, rather than hiking or backpacking. For over 17 years, Earth Walks has offered a rewarding experience of self discovery through the land, arts, cultures and traditions of New Mexico and the American Southwest. Participants are welcomed as family and friends into local homes and villages by indigenous “cultural consultants” who provide a bridge of experience between ancestral teachings and contemporary life. A central feature of this experience is “service learning”–hands on help in fields, farms and homes while learning local values. Enjoy storytelling, drum making, pottery, weaving, traditional foods, silence on the land in places of inspiring natural beauty and power. For more information visit the Earth Walks blog.

Meet a Native Pueblo family of potters in their own home and enjoy a traditional meal. Find yourself in another time at a Pueblo Feast Day. Let the drumbeat and singing resonate through your body and connect with a centuries-old tradition. Watch the colorful dances that express a oneness with Mother Earth and feast at a Native home.*  I would love to create a custom tour geared to you and your group or family’s interests and passions in the Land of Enchantment where I “step-on” to your vehicle or bus. We are all connected. Let this be your opportunity to connect in fun, diverse, inspiring and transformative ways in this beautiful, special and unique land.

Pilgrimage New Mexico

Are you a pilgrim looking for holy and inspirational sites to visit? Our “tours” highlight Northern New Mexico’s unique and rich Christian heritage. New Mexico is a historic holy land of miraculous shrines and things divine. What’s more, New Mexico is the birthplace of Christianity in the American Southwest, dating to the 1500’s, with missions older than those in California. To learn about this “Holy Land of America”, contact me to set up your New Mexico pilgrimage where you will learn many stories of the supernatural while visiting these old adobe churches, shrines, and other religious sites. Led by professional guides and a priest with extensive knowledge, your journey will be blessed with Spanish traditions, must-see sites, and some of the most breathtaking views this side of heaven.

The Abiquiu Art Project provides an opportunity for art lovers and collectors to step into the world of five remarkable artists, see their working studios and experience the ongoing creation of art, first expressed by the early desert cultures of Northern New Mexico, and the painter Georgia O’Keeffe, who lived here for over 30 years. Starting May 6, our Saturday Shuttle Studio Tour leaves from the Abiquiu Inn at 2 PM and arrives back at the Inn at 5 PM, visiting the four studios of five artists with a stop to see an unusual view of Plaza Blanca. Our desert geology and light inspires their art! To reserve a seat, please visit our website. If you have a group, or are interested in an individual tour or specific studio, we also have options for you.
